Is there a possibility the parade or festival could be canceled?
The July Fourth Planning Committee is actively monitoring weather conditions. The safety of our community, visitors, participants, volunteers, vendors, and staff is our highest priority.
When will a final decision be made?
A final determination regarding the parade and festival will be made no later than 12:00 PM on Friday.

How can I stay cool during the festival and parade?
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
- Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
- Use sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses.
- Bring a cooling towel, handheld fan, or small umbrella for shade.
- Take breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas whenever possible.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during the hottest part of the day.
- Check on children, older adults, and anyone who may be more sensitive to the heat.
What should I do if someone shows signs of heat-related illness?
Please seek assistance immediately. Signs may include:
- Dizziness or fainting
- Excessive sweating or lack of sweating
- Nausea or vomiting
- Rapid heartbeat
Notify event staff, public safety personnel, or call 911 if needed.
Will water be available during the parade?
Yes. Hydration stations will be positioned along Main Street during the parade to help attendees stay hydrated.
Are there shaded areas available during the parade?
Limited shade will be available along Main Street. Attendees are encouraged to bring a small umbrella or hat for additional sun protection.
Can I bring my own refreshments?
You are encouraged to bring water, cooling towels, and personal cooling items during the parade.
Will first aid be available?
Yes. First aid and public safety personnel will be on site throughout the event.

Where is the parade route?
The parade travels along Main Street between Rosewood Drive and Meadow Avenue.

Is the parade free?
Yes. The parade is free and open to the public.
Where is the best place to watch the parade?
Viewing is available along both sides of Main Street throughout the parade route. Arrive early for the best viewing locations.
When will streets close for the parade?
Road closures begin at 3:30 PM.
- East End: Main Street/Route 208 near Sheetz
- West End: Main Street at Cammack Road (detour in place)
Please plan to arrive before 3:30 PM, as vehicle access to the parade route will be restricted once roads are closed.
Where can I park for the parade?
Free public parking is available at:
- Frosty’s
- Parking lot behind Main Street on Cutler Avenue
- Louisa Fireman’s Fairgrounds
- Kenny’s Tire
- Louisa Methodist Church
Please follow posted signs and directions from event staff.
No parking is permitted on Main Street between Rosewood Drive and Meadow Avenue after 2:00 PM.
Is handicap parking available for the parade?
Yes. Accessible parking is available in Courthouse Square in designated handicap parking spaces. A valid handicap parking permit is required.
Will water be available during the parade?
Yes! Hydration stations will be positioned along Main Street during the parade.

Are there shaded areas available during the parade?
Can I bring chairs or blankets?
Yes. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome for both the parade and festival. Please keep out of pedestrian walkways.
Can I bring my own refreshments?
Yes. You are encouraged to bring water, cooling towels, and personal cooling items during the parade.
Are pets allowed?
While pets are permitted, please use discretion due to high temperatures, large crowds, loud music, and fireworks. If you bring a pet:
- Keep your pet on a leash.
- Provide plenty of water.
- Avoid hot pavement during peak heat.
- Watch for signs of overheating.
- Clean up after your pet.

Festival activities begin at 5:00 PM, immediately following the parade, at the Louisa Fireman’s Fairgrounds.

Are restrooms available?
Yes. Public restrooms are available throughout the Louisa Fireman’s Fairgrounds.
What can I bring?
We encourage you to bring:

- Cooling towels or bandanas
Small personal coolers (approximately six-pack size) containing water only are permitted.
What is not allowed?
- Outside food and beverages are not permitted.
- Food vendors and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the event.
For everyone’s safety and to preserve viewing areas, pop-up tents, canopies, grills, and glass containers are not permitted.
Will alcoholic beverages be available?
Yes. Southern Revere Cellars will offer beer and wine for guests 21 years of age and older.
A valid photo ID is required. Guests purchasing alcohol must obtain and wear an event wristband.
Can I leave and return to the festival?
Yes. Guests may come and go throughout the evening. Please note that parking availability may become limited as attendance increases.
Where is the Information Pavilion, First Aid, and Lost & Found?
Visit the Information Pavilion, located next to the Main Gate at the Louisa Fireman’s Fairgrounds. Staff and volunteers will be available to answer questions, provide first aid assistance, and assist with lost and found items.
